A série "The marvelous mrs. Maisel" foi a grande vencedora do Emmy 2018 nesta segunda-feira (17) ao ganhar cinco categorias de comédia da maior premiação da televisão americana. Entre os dramas, "Game of thrones" foi a escolhida como melhor série do ano.

A segunda temporada de "American Crime Story", sobre o assassinato de Gianni Versace, ficou em segundo lugar com três estatuetas, em uma noite com baixa concentração de troféus.

Já entre os estúdios, a batalha foi acirrada e terminou em empate. A Netflix, maior indicada do ano, empatou com a HBO, com seis vitórias cada. FX e Amazon (produtora de 'Mrs. Maisel') levaram cinco cada uma.

A cerimônia, comandada pelos comediantes Colin Jost e Michael Che, começou com referências à falta de diversidade em Hollywood, foco de diversas manifestações nos últimos anos, e piadas em relação aos escândalos de abuso sexual na indústria e ao cancelamento de “Roseanne” após o comentário racista feito pela protagonista.

Mas um dos grandes momentos da cerimônia foi mesmo o pedido de casamento feito pelo diretor da cerimônia do Oscar 2018, Glenn Weiss, à sua namorada, no momento em que ele recebia um troféu na categoria de melhor direção em especial de variedades.
